Iraq settles the company that implements the Faw port project … the Chinese or the Korean?

Al-Fartousi added , “The Korean company, Daewoo, is the one that was chosen to implement the project of the large Faw port,” noting that “the initiation of work by the Korean company Daewoo will take place after approval within the Council of Ministers during its next session.”

Earlier, the Ministry of Transport confirmed that it had received representative support regarding the offer submitted by the Korean company Daewoo to establish the Faw port, indicating that the Chinese company was not specialized in building ports.

The ministry said in a statement, (December 14, 2020), that “the ministry obtained support from members of the House of Representatives regarding the offer made by the Korean company Daewoo regarding the initiation of the large port of Faw.”

She added, “The Chinese company is working in the field of electric carrier and is not specialized in building ports.”
