Barzani: The region is ready to facilitate the work of the private sector and investors

Shafaq News / The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani expressed on Monday the region’s readiness to support and facilitate the work of the private sector and investment companies, including Spanish, in the region.

This came during his meeting with the Spanish ambassador to Iraq, Juan Jose Escobar and a Spanish trade delegation, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the region.

The statement said that Barzani discussed with the Spanish delegation “the development of relations between the two parties, especially on the economic and commercial side.”

Barzani renewed, “the region’s readiness to provide all support and facilities to the private sector and Spanish investors, to create job and investment opportunities in the region and to participate in the development of various economic sectors in Kurdistan.”

The statement indicated that the two sides also discussed “the general situation in the region, the political process in Iraq, the region’s relations with Baghdad and the ongoing discussions to address the pending differences, the spread of the Corona virus, terrorism concerns and other issues of common concern.
