Parliamentary committee: The port of Al-Faw will be completed within 45 months

The Integrity Committee in the House of Representatives confirmed, today, Monday, that the port of Al-Faw will be completed within 45 months, with five berths out of 90 berths.
A member of the committee, Youssef Al-Kalabi, said, ” The meeting was held at the Ministry of Transport in the presence of the Integrity Committee and most of the representatives specialized in the Services and Financial Services Committee for details,” indicating that “the Chinese company has no jurisdiction in this regard.”

HE ADDED, “THE CHINESE COMPANY’S NEGOTIATING CONTRACT IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE KOREAN COMPANY WITH ITS DETAILS,” POINTING OUT THAT “THERE ARE PEOPLE SEEKING TO DISRUPT AND DELAY THE FAO PORT.”

“The port will be completed within 45 months with five berths out of 90 berths, but the infrastructure, the connecting road and a lot
of service structures will be completed,” Al -Kalabi pointed out , adding that “we will have a port with a depth of 19 meters.”

And he called for “preventing those voices that distort
the port file.”
